Yesterday I got a special treat – an evening solo trip out to the coastal plains of Pawleys Island for a family session on the grounds of Huntington Beach State Park. And it could not have been more perfect – the clouds came in to soften the light, the wind kicked up to give the beach some pizazz, and pretty little Amelia and her family came out to play. If you’ve not been to HBSP, it’s really something special with tons of different areas to visit – and they even have alligators (although I have yet to see one…but it’s definitely on the list! ). We started on the lawns at Atalaya where Amelia showed me every flower growing in the grass, and then headed over the dunes to play in the sand and surf. It was a quick visit as the light was fading and so was Amelia by the end, but I loved every second and will remember it for a long time to come. Thank you Jane and Andy for inviting me down to such a lovely spot, for letting me spend some time with your family and for being so easy to work with in front of the camera – the love and laughter you all share is contagious and came out brilliantly on the shots. Enjoy!
